How we look after your information

This notice explains what we collect when you use this website or contact us, why we collect it, and your rights.

Who we are

SolarHeat Limited ("SolarHeat", "we") is the data controller for the information you give us. We're registered in England and Wales, company number 16960749, registered office 23 Brynglas, Caerphilly, CF83 2PJ. You can contact us about your data at info@solarheatltd.com or on 02922 523421.

What we collect

• The details you type into our forms: your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), postcode and address.
• Your answers to our questions, for example how your home is heated now and who owns it.
• If you use the eligibility check or roof check in England or Wales: the public details held on the national EPC register for your address, such as its energy rating and main heating fuel.
• If you use the roof check: an estimate of your roof's size, direction and solar potential, based on Google's satellite data.
• Basic technical information needed to run the website securely, such as the country your connection comes from.

Why we use it

• To reply to your enquiry, arrange a survey and prepare a quote. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
• To keep records of the work we do and meet our obligations under our industry schemes and consumer codes. The legal basis is our legal obligations and legitimate interests.
• To send you occasional updates about grants and offers, only if you tick the box to say yes. You can stop these at any time by replying "unsubscribe" or contacting us.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your information. We use trusted service providers to run our business, who only process it on our instructions: Google (email, spreadsheets, maps and satellite data), Cloudflare (website hosting and security) and Squarespace (our domain and email). If your installation goes ahead, we share the necessary details with Ofgem to apply for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant, with MCS to register your installation, and with your electricity network operator where solar or battery systems need to be notified or approved.

How long we keep it

If your enquiry doesn't go ahead, we delete your details after 24 months. If we carry out work for you, we keep your records for as long as needed for guarantees, warranties and our legal and scheme obligations.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to stop using it for marketing. Contact us at info@solarheatltd.com. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
